Arytiss and I were ambushed by a giant slug creature that was the size of a semi truck. We had our swords out, ready for battle.

“Ready for this Arytiss?” I asked.

“Anytime Kai.” Arytiss said.

We took our battle stances and charged at the giant slug. It reared up and spewed a cloud at the ground in front of us. We jumped over it and looked back. The cloud was chewing up the ground and we both realized what it was.

“Careful Kai. That’s acid.” Arytiss said.

“I see that. Let’s hope it won’t chew up our swords.” I said.

“Agreed.” Arytiss replied.

We turned and charged at the slug again. I went left and Arytiss went right. We stabbed our swords into the slug’s sides and dragged them down the length of its body. When we got behind it we ripped our swords out and turned to look at the slug. It had a lost a good chunk of health, but it was still ready for a fight. We readied our swords and swung at it again. I swung at its back and Arytiss went for its head. I left a gash in its back and its health dropped. Arytiss swung his sword right in its face and split its head in half, killing it. We both jumped down and landed in front of the noew dead slug.

“Well done Arytiss.” I said.

“Thanks. Ugly fucker wasn’t that hard to kill.” Arytiss said.

“Yeah. Figured it’d be tougher than that.” I said.

Oh how I spoke too soon. The slug’s body suddenly dissolved and when it was gone, in its place stood two smaller slugs each about half the size of the first slug. Arytiss and I just stared at them.

“I had to go and open my big mouth.” I said.

“Well hey. Maybe we’ll get more experience when we kill it.” Arytiss said.

“Yeah maybe. Who’s to say these won’t break into smaller ones as well.” I said.

“Well at least their health isn’t as high as the big one’s was.” Arytiss said.

“Good point. Alright, let’s get this over with.”

Arytiss nodded and we ran forward. I went for one slug and Arytiss went for the other. I swung at mine and took a small chunk of its health. I realized that while its health was lower its defense was higher. So it would be harder to kill than before.

“Arytiss! Their defense is higher now. Be careful!” I said.

“Got it!” Arytiss said.

I turned to face the slug I had. It reared up and spewed more acid at me. I jumped to the left and dodged it then ran forward and drove my sword into the slug. I pulled my blade out then jumped away. I looked at the slug to see its health slowly draining. I looked at the wound and realized something. There was a liquid leaking from the wound I left and it was causing smoke to come out from the slug’s mouth. I pierced the organ that contained the acid it spewed. Apparently only the production organ and whatever it used to spew the acid was all that could handle it. The rest of its body wasn’t made to handle it.

“Arytiss, the acid is in the front of the body. They can’t handle their own acid.” I said.

“Alright. This should be easy then.” Arytiss said.

He ran at his slug and stabbed it in the same place I did and jumped back revealing the slug to be dissolving from its own acid. We both stood there and watched as the slugs dissolved in their own corrosive substances.

“Kind of ironic isn’t it?” Arytiss asked.

“Being killed by their own acid. Yeah it is kind of ironic.” I said.

“Oh well. Their loss.” Arytiss said.

“Maybe not. Take a look.” I sid.

In the place of my slug was four more slugs about the size of a Porsche. Arytiss’s slug had done the same and became four smaller ones.

“Doesn’t this thing ever just die?” Arytiss asked.

:No clue. But it’s beginning to get annoying.” I said.

“Think maybe they can’t handle electricity?” Arytiss asked as lightning sparked along his blades.

“It’s better than nothing. And they are sea slugs. So it’s probably the best idea we’ve got.” I said.

“All I can say is, we better get something good for killing this. Because it’s a pain in the ass.” Arytiss said.

I nodded in agreement and we got ready. The slugs, though still rather large, weren’t moving. They just stood there and stared at us. Arytiss and I looked at each other, then back at the slugs. Then we realized, their acid had slowed them down quite a bit. They weren’t moving because they were slow as hell.

“This might just be easier now than it was before.” I said.

“Yeah. Well I won’t say no to an easy kill.” Arytiss said.

“Who would?” I asked.

We walked up to the slugs and raised our weapons. I stabbed one slug in the head, killing it. Arytiss stabbed two in the face with his twin blades causing them to despawn. I swung my sword through the last three slugs I had killing them and Arytiss stabbed his last two in the head. When the slugs were gone we both got a large amount of EXP and an item was left on the ground for us. I picked it up and looked at it.

Item: Deadly Acid
Effect: Can be used to give weapons the ability to decrease speed and defense.

“So we kill a bunch of acid spewing slugs, and all we get is an internal organ full of acid?” Arytiss asked.

“I have a feeling this can probably be used for something. We can give it to Helix when we get back.” I said.

“Fine. But I’m not a fan of the slugs.” Arytiss said.

“Me either. Come on. Our friends are probably waiting for us back at the resort.” I said.

I put the item in my inventory and we walked back to the resort. Elysia was still laying down in a chair resting, Zero was at the bar getting some food, Cole and Helix had since gotten out of the water and were now playing some mini games.

“Hey guys, we’re back from EXP grinding.” I said.

Elysia looked up and walked over to us. Zero got his food and walked over while eating some fruit, and Cole and Helix came over as well.

“How’d it go?” Elysia asked.

“Well we fought a giant sea slug, it died and turned into two smaller sea slugs, we killed them and they turned into eight smaller sea slugs, then they died and we got an internal organ with acid in it.” I said.

Arytiss pulled the acid producing organ out of my inventory and held it out for them all to see.

“Who wants to tocuh it?” Arytiss asked.

Elysia seemed kind of disgusted by it.

“Arytiss, that’s some creature’s organ you’re holding.” Elysia said.

“I know. Cool huh?” Arytiss asked.

“Ew! That’s disgusting. What’s it even used for?” Elysia asked.

“The acid decreases defense and speed.” I said.

Helix grabbed it and looked at it.

“I think I can use this with my arrows. Maybe make them better.” Helix said.

“You can keep it then.” Elysia said.

“Yeah, I don’t think Arytiss and I can really use it.” I said.

“Alright.” Helix said as he stashed the item in his inventory.

“So how was the relaxation?” I asked.

“It was fun. I haven’t been able to relax and enjoy the sun like this in a while.” Elysia said.

“Good. Because now we need to get serious. We need to get ready for the next boss fight.” I said.

“Alright. What do we do first?” Elysia asked.

“I heard a rumor actually.” Cole said.

“You mean you heard someone gossiping with those fuzzy ears of yours?” Arytiss asked.

“Yeah, I did. Is that a problem?” Cole asked.

“Nope. Carry on Fluffy.” Arytiss said.

“I’ll be pissed at you later. Anyway, the rumor was of a cave underwater. Supposedly it holds some pretty good treasure. Supposedly there’s something there that could help us in future battles and I think it might be a good idea. But we’d need the right equipment to get there. We can get some scuba gear from one of the shops around here. I think we might have enough.” Cole said.

“Sounds like it’s worth checking out.” I said.

“Definitely. I think I remember something about an underwater cave when this game was in Beta. I never really checked it out because I wanted to clear the game first but I know it’s there somewhere.” Zero said.

“Alright. Well then we have a plan. First we need to get some gear so we can go underwater.” I said.

“I think there’s a place in the market just over there that has what we need.” Helix said, pointing at a store.

“Good. Let’s get the gear and go for a swim.” I said.

We all agreed and headed off to the store to get the gear we needed. All I was thinking though while we were buying the gear was, ‘I hope this treasure is well worth it.’
