The Hybrid Dragon Chapter 5

I woke up the next day feeling strange, almost relaxed. Then of course I got back into my usual mind set and I was my usual seemingly emotionless self. I got up and got ready for another day of searching. Soon after I was ready my friends Strike and Alpha woke up as well.

"Morning guys." I said.

"Morning." Strike said.

"Hey." Alpha said.

"Alright well today's our first day working for the pokeumans so we should be ready at all times." I said.

"No problem Gamma." Strike said.

"Understood." Alpha said.

"Also before you leave the room keep in mind that not everyone accepts us for the hybrids that we are so someone is bound to try and cause trouble." I said.

"Let me guess you want us to ignore them?" Alpha asked.

"On the contrary I was going to say don't take that crap from them. I find that a good punch to the nose usually shuts those kind of people up." I said.

"I think we're going to get along just fine Gamma." Alpha said smirking.

"Good to hear." I said.

"Um can we go get breakfast now?" Strike asked.

"Sure thing Strike we might have to get directions though." I said.

"No problem I just want some food. They barely fed us anything at that stinking hell hole." Strike said.

"I know Strike I used to be in the same position as you remember?" I asked.

"Oh right."

"Now come on. Let's go get some food and see if we have any missions." I said.

We walked outside our room and Ray walked out of his at the same time as us.

"Morning guys." He said.

"Morning." Strike said.

"Whatever." Alpha replied.

"Any chance you can show us the way to the cafeteria?" I asked.

"Yeah follow me." Ray said.

We followed him down several hallways until we finally reached a room with a small line at the food counter. We walked in and waited with our trays to get some food. Before we could get any food though someone ambushed us.

"Move it you hooded freaks." Someone said shoving Strike down.

We had our hoods up to try and avoid trouble but I guess some trouble just can't be avoided. I looked and saw an arbok standing there.

"What's your problem?" Strike asked.

"You're in my way and I'm hungry." The arbok said.

"Well too bad, you can wait like everyone else." I said.

"Too bad I'm in your spot now." The arbok said.

"Guys forget it she isn't worth the effort." Strike said.

"Good point." Alpha responded.

We had to wait a little longer but we finally got our food. I had a tray with two raw steaks on it. Strike had a tray stacked with her own bloody steak, and Alpha was eating a raw steak and an apple. Then we got a table by Ray since he was basically our tour guide.

"Sorry about Jackie guys." Ray said.

"You mean the snake?" Strike asked.

"Yeah she's an arbok and she's like this to all but a few people who are just as bad as her." Ray said.

"Who are her friends?" I asked.

"She hangs out with a serperior, an ekans, and a seviper. Everyone just calls them the snake crew. The serperior is named Annie and she's rather flirty and annoying. The ekans is named Stella and she's rather obnoxious. The seviper is the worst besides Jackie herself. Her name is Sharah but everyone just calls her one of two things." Ray explained.

"What are they?" I asked.

"Either deadly snake b**ch which she isn't fond of or her preferred nickname the dragons fang." Ray said.

"Why the heck do they call her that?" I asked.

"Supposedly she killed a dragon type that was working for pokextinction and she carries it's fang with her everywhere." Ray explained.

"I see." I said.

"Why the sudden urge to know?" Ray asked.

"Because their heading for our table right now." I said looking in their direction.

We all turned to look ad saw the four snakes slithering towards our table. The seviper coiled herself around Ray's chest lightly.

"Hey Ray did you miss me?" Annie asked.

"Not in particular Annie." Ray said.

"Oh quit playing hard to get." Annie said.

"I'm not now go away and take your friends with you." Ray said.

"Hey you should be glad she likes you otherwise we'd just pound you into dust like everyone else." The ekans known as Stella said.

"Well I'm not interested in her affections Stella and why do you all hang out around me anyway?" Ray asked.

"Because we want to since you're the only one who doesn't fear us." Jackie said.

Then Jackie shoved me out of my seat and onto the floor.

"What is this stuff?" Jackie asked looking at my tray.

"Their raw steaks." I said.

"Why would you eat raw meat?" Jackie asked me.

I simply picked up a steak and took a bite out of it.

"Simple it tastes good." I said.

"That's disgusting! Cook that thing." Jackie said.

"No I like my steaks raw." I said.

"That's just nasty. Get away from us." Jackie complained.

Alpha who was sitting next to me simply shoved Jackie out of her seat so I could sit back down.

"How dare you. Don't you know who we are?" Jackie asked.

"Yeah a bunch of stinking snakes." I said.

"Were the snake crew. Feared and respected throughout the entire base!" Jackie exclaimed.

Everyone was beginning to look at our table to see what the commotion was about.

"Lady your drawing a crowd so tone it down will ya." Alpha said.

"You jerks should be glad I even grace your table with my presence." Jackie said.

"You grew up in a very wealthy household didn't you?" Strike asked.

"Well yes but what does that have to do with anything?" Jackie asked.

"You people are all alike. You act as if your better because you have crap loads of money when your just a bunch of jerks. You can't live without your money and whenever someone tries to put you in your place you just go running off to daddy so he'll buy you a pony or something." Strike said.

"How dare you! You have no right to insult my family you b**ch! My parents cared about me very much! You rats should've been scolded by your parents more!" Jackie shouted.

I was beginning to get angrier than usual. I hated when people complained about their parents and families. At least they had parents. Strike, Alpha, and I didn't have that luxury.

"I bet if I met your parents they would be glad to be rid of such spoiled brats like yourselves." Jackie said.

Now there are many things in life that I won't do such as judging others since I knew pain. However I was not against hitting a woman who thought it was her place to talk to me about family. Before I could do anything else the other snakes spoke up.

"You punks are nothing to us. Your parents were nothing more than losers who would rather have the pokextinction clones for children than you." Stella said.

"Yeah what makes you think you can judge us because we had better parents than you?" Sharah said.

At that point not only did I snap but so did Alpha and Strike.

I punched Jackie right between the eyes, Strike punched Sharah with an uppercut, and Alpha caught Stella with a right cross. They were on the ground with new bruises and looks of shock on their faces.

"How dare you hit a lady." Jackie said.

"Shut your mouth Jackie." I said.

"Yeah at least you jerks had those luxuries." Strike said.

"Yeah don't talk to us about family." Alpha said.

"What's with the sudden change in demeanor?" Jackie asked stunned.

"Jackie, we've experienced pain for far longer than you have. Everyone in here thinks it hurts to have to leave your family and never see them again. Well guess what you spoiled snob AT LEAST YOU HAD PARENTS TO LOSE!" I shouted.

"WHAT!?" Jackie said.

"We never had parents to care for us or even to scold us." Strike said.

"We had nothing in our lives ever since we were born. We never had families or friends. We never got to experience joys like that." Alpha continued.

"We spent sixteen years in a worthless F***ING DOG CRATE! We were given nothing but pain. We were tortured and experimented on by scientists who saw it fit to play with our DNA." I said.

"And this is what the result of our suffering was." Alpha said lowering his hood.

I lowered my hood and Strike lowered hers revealing our semi human nature. Jackie, Stella, Sharah, and Annie who had been quiet up till now were staring at us in worry.

"You see? We know nothing but anger, hatred, and suffering." Alpha said.

"We spent our entire lives knowing absolutely nothing about ourselves." Strike said.

"We don't know who our parents are, or where we were born. We don't know if we even have parents anymore. So just shut your trap and don't talk to us about family because you got off easy." I said.

"I… I." Jackie tried to say.

"Just shut up and leave us alone." I said.

Jackie, Sharah, and Stella all slithered off while Annie stayed behind.

"Sorry." Annie said.

"Hmm?"

"I don't enjoy them bullying everyone and now they've gone too far. If they touched a nerve I'm sorry though if it means anything I think you guys look cooler with the hoods down instead of when your hiding your faces." Annie said.

With that Annie slithered off to find her friends. Before anyone could say anything my cell phone went off. I answered it and it was the headmaster calling. I made sure I understood then hung up.

"Gear up guys." I said.

"What's going on?" Strike asked.

"We've got a mission." I said.
